Marketing Web Manager

The Role

This position is primarily responsible for the management and implementation of digital marketing and website projects that align with business drivers and university strategies. The Web Manager is responsible for the effective use of the website to enhance communication and engagement between the university, its customers, stakeholders and partners.

Key Accountabilities

  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to define strategic business requirements to establish web projects: defining objectives, project life-cycle, deliverables, milestones and resource requirements;
  • Work with the IT team to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for web developers.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
  • Provide day-to-day management and guidance for the Web Content Coordinator to ensure the effective delivery of web related key deliverables. 
  • Build consensus across teams and departments and manage projects to align strategies and goals; 
  • Lead the coordination of project teams throughout the project life cycle. Understand the creative and technical requirements to effectively manage deliverables;
  • Ensure quality web solutions by working with the IT team to maintain and enhance standards, compliance, performance, compatibility and usability;
  • Manage monitor and evaluate the university website to optimise customer engagement, experience and conversion;
  • Liaise regularly and coordinate with RMIT Melbourne to facilitate sharing of web processes, practices, resources and solutions where possible;
  • Ensure the university brand strategy is consistent across the website;
  • Take ownership of web analytics to produce and distribute reports and intelligence for the university;
  • Stay abreast of digital and traditional best practices and identify new areas of opportunities.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in a marketing focussed position with international exposure.
  • Experience in digital project management, from inception to completion.
  • Excellent stakeholder management with an approach that encourages and promotes collaboration across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand, learn and use new platforms and software.
  • Working knowledge of wireframes, web metrics and search engine optimization.
  • Excellent skills in time management with ability to prioritise competing demands to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).
